HMO'S Hospice and Healthcare

I have been walking through the cancer trap with my sister and the inadequate care in that whole system is truly sad. Her husband has good government coverage and thought the HMO affliate was good, but the problems that patients and families are put through by insurance companies and HMOs in particular is ridiculous. Why are persons, not trained in medicine, giving directives to doctors on what care a cancer patient can or cannot receive? Why are these non medical persons second guessing doctors? This is asinine. There is a standard of treatment for each type of cancer, in relation to the stage of progression that has been set for years. The problems that we have had to endure on top of the devastating effects of cancer are just uncalled for. It is well documented and recommended that early detection is the best course of action in fighting cancer and the actual cure of some cancers. The HMO's set us on a path that prolonged treatment. Even though the doctors at Sykes know that the "petscan" is the best and most comprehensive test for detecting cancer they sent us on a round of x-ray's, MRI's, and bone scan's. To get better care we had to beg to get out of the HMO before the open enrollment period to get to a doctor who cared what happened to her, I think we were too late. The lack of good treatment for people with "Good Government Coverage" is horrendous. What I began to realize was that Cancer treatment on the whole is about selling expensive procedures (radiation) and treatments (chemotherapy-cost $4000 a treatment). These treatments have absolutely nothing to do with curing anyone; they make the person sicker than the cancer made them, before the cancer would have made them really sick. I have cried many days and nights at the image of the people coming into the hospital cancer centers and oconologist office "ALONE" because I know the troubles we have and to think of a sick person, with no one to help them as they try to navigate thru the insurance mess and also trying to understand everything the doctors are saying, tears my heart up. Once I told my children radiation maybe? probably not but definitely no to chemotherapy. I'll die from cancer instead of put my body through the side effects of the treatment and maintenance of s disease that they will not cure. Now, if I should get cancer I won't tell anyone, I'm going to leave the doctors office and proceed to LIVE the best and the rest of my life instead of prepare to die and compromise my immune system with chemicals so that I have no choice but to die. There maybe a cure already but they won't tell us because there's no money in cure, no profit margin, and what would they do with all the unused chemo drugs? It's far too expensive for the pharmaceutical companies to cure cancer. Good Healthcare is part of the Bill of Rights, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! Americans should be able to walk in a hospital or healthcare facility and get the best healthcare because they are humans living in the richest country in the world and they are American citizens who support this country no matter what mistakes our leaders make. Let's finally get this one right, God Bless America!

Could America's problems be worse?

I was just looking at a Independence Day again, the President (Bill Pullman) has just given a rousing, inspiring and heartfelt speech and it crossed my mind…Too bad invading aliens from outer space is not our problem here in this United States.

John Hanson, First President bet you didn't know this!

John Hanson, First President John Hanson, American Patriot and First President of the United States(1715-1783) He was the heir of one of the greatest family traditions in the colonies and became the patriarch of a long line of American patriots – his great-grandfather died at Lutzen beside the great King Gustavus Aldophus of Sweden; his grandfather was one of the founders of New Sweden along the Delaware River in Maryland; one of his nephews was the military secretary to George Washington; another was a signer of the Declaration; still another was a signer of the Constitution; yet another was Governor of Maryland during the Revolution; and still another was a member of the first Congress; two sons were killed in action with the Continental Army; a grandson served as a member of Congress under the new Constitution; and another grandson was a Maryland Senator. Thus, even if Hanson had not served as President himself, he would have greatly contributed to the life of the nation through his ancestry and progeny. As a youngster he began a self-guided reading of classics and rather quickly became an acknowledged expert in the juridicalism of Anselm and the practical philosophy of Seneca – both of which were influential in the development of the political philosophy of the great leaders of the Reformation. It was based upon these legal and theological studies that the young planter – his farm, Mulberry Grove was just across the Potomac from Mount Vernon – began to espouse the cause of the patriots. In 1775 he was elected to the Provincial Legislature of Maryland. Then in 1777, he became a member of Congress where he distinguished himself as a brilliant administrator. Thus, he was elected President in 1781. Was John Hanson the first President of the United States? The new country was actually formed on March 1, 1781 with the adoption of The Articles of Confederation. This document was actually proposed on June 11, 1776, but not agreed upon by Congress until November 15, 1777. Maryland refused to sign this document until Virginia and New York ceded their western lands (Maryland was afraid that these states would gain too much power in the new government from such large amounts of land). Once the signing took place in 1781, a President was needed to run the country. John Hanson was chosen unanimously by Congress (which included George Washington). In fact, all the other potential candidates refused to run against him, as he was a major player in the Revolution and an extremely influential member of Congress. As the first President, Hanson had quite the shoes to fill. No one had ever been President and the role was poorly defined. His actions in office would set precedent for all future Presidents. He took office just as the Revolutionary War ended. Almost immediately, the troops demanded to be paid. As would be expected after any long war, there were no funds to meet the salaries. As a result, the soldiers threatened to overthrow the new government and put Washington on the throne as a monarch. All the members of Congress ran for their lives, leaving Hanson running the government. He somehow managed to calm the troops and hold the country together. If he had failed, the government would have fallen almost immediately and everyone would have been bowing to King Washington. Hanson, as President, ordered all foreign troops off American soil, as well as the removal of all foreign flags. This was quite a feat, considering the fact that so many European countries had a stake in the United States since the days following Columbus. Hanson established the Great Seal of the United States, which all Presidents have since been required to use on all official documents. President Hanson also established the first Treasury Department, the first Secretary of War, and the first Foreign Affairs Department. Lastly, he declared that the fourth Thursday of every November was to be Thanksgiving Day, which is still true today. The Articles of Confederation only allowed a President to serve a one-year term during any three-year period, so Hanson actually accomplished quite a bit in such little time. He served in that office from November 5, 1781 until November 3, 1782. He was the first President to serve a full term after the full ratification of the Articles of Confederation – and like so many of the Southern and New England Founders, he was strongly opposed to the Constitution when it was first discussed. He remained a confirmed anti-federalist until his untimely death. Six other presidents were elected after him - Elias Boudinot (1783), Thomas Mifflin (1784), Richard Henry Lee (1785), Nathan Gorman (1786), Arthur St. Clair (1787), and Cyrus Griffin (1788) - all prior to Washington taking office. Why don't we ever hear about the first seven Presidents of the United States? It's quite simple - The Articles of Confederation didn't work well. The individual states had too much power and nothing could be agreed upon. A new doctrine needed to be written - something we know as the Constitution. George Washington was definitely not the first President of the United States. He was the first President of the United States under the Constitution we follow today. And the first seven Presidents are forgotten in history.

TOPIC: North American Union

TOPIC: North American Union Do you know about the North American Union, an agreement that Bush has made with Mexico’s Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin to combine into 1 continent union. This is why the subject of immigration has been directed to “fixing” immigration rather than enforcing the current laws. This is why he wants to waste some money on some fences. It’s a cosmetic solution so that the Mexican government is not “offended. In his final "State of the Union Address among the other things that were trivialized, President Bush mentioned a summit of these 3 countries that will take place this year. They will finalize the dissolving of the Constitution and America as we know it, remember Bush said the Constitution is just a Got Damn piece of paper. The constant changing of the look of our money is “subliminal conditioning”, so we won’t be surprised when the “Amero” is introduced. Acquaint yourself with what is happening so you won't be so surprised when the deal goes down! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXo http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965 http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=15233

Oprah show on Hip Hop!

Those Negroes are confused, Russell Simmons, he keeps harping on the devastating conditions that the rappers come from. That video they showed on Oprah was a clear disrespect of Black women; no poverty and Oprah let them off the hook. Hip hop summit" Get your money right! Please! How about apologizing to the kids for being poor role models. Those men have no intention of admitting wrong or doing anything else where Hip Hop is concerned, that's their bread and butter. Anyway they don't respect Black women, themselves or anyone else. Their Hip Hop summit will quiet the critics and that's all you get! What do they get? Mo money! Just like the Imus's flipped it back on Black folks and the Hip Hoppers, Her panel is flipping the problem to poverty. Oh Crappola! And Stanley Crouch was right! You can live in a Million dollar house and be a low life. While you explain there’s other ways to rap you produce and release the nasty low life version. Chavers, Simmons and Liles are full of it. They want us to wait until the nasty rappers mature and tolerate their behavior until whenever? So the show amounted to whole lot of talk and no real commitment to do anything. As a family we keep our kids on the academic road, they are involved in youth church, listen to Christian rap and we talk to them constantly about being able and ok with making sound independent decisions. Our children can't watch those videos because we don't want self-degrading images running rampant in their minds. It is enough being Black than to have to deal with that nonsense. In the March Issue of Ebony there was an article "Sex Violence and Disrespect: What Hip Hop Has Done To Our Women" During the same month the same publisher had an article in the Jet magazine with 2 video vixens, graduated from college but were "smart" enough to get that money while they still "look" good. Confusion or what? I wanted to say “Sorry Oprah you're beating a dead horse.” I wanted to say “Oprah look at this tape over and over until you see the truth, “ but a few days later she had her pal Simmons on her show to help him promote his book. Mo Money! Mo Money!
